Oahu
Best 5 Oahu & Honolulu shore excursions1. USS Arizona Memorial
Ride a navy launch to the floating memorial over the submerged but visible battleship Arizona. It was sunk in the December 7, 1941 Pearl Harbor attack, permanently entombing over a thousand crew members.
You can also see a film documentary on the Pearl Harbor strike and take a guided tour of the nearby historic battleship Missouri.
2. Waikiki Beach
Sunbathe or stroll along the world famous 2-mile-long Waikiki Beach in Honolulu. It's lined with high-rise hotel-resorts (photo).
3. Polynesian Cultural Center
Explore recreated villages of seven Polynesian islands. There is entertainment and a luau (some seasoned travelers believe the experiences are a bit hokey).
4. Nu'uanu Pali Lookout
See a sweeping view of Oahu's east coast from a high cliff edge. It can be quite windy.
5. Bishop Museum
View art and artifact treasures gathered from Polynesian islands.
